When Paige Nichols meets her husband’s glamorous new colleague at a faculty mixer, she instantly knows they’re having an affair。 It’s the way he looks at her, like she’s the only woman in the world。 Aaron used to look at her like that, too。 And with her beautiful, knowing smile, Cara Morton seems to enjoy flaunting their romance right under her nose。

Paige believes Aaron when he says he’ll break things off。 What else can she do when she’s determined to hold her family together? But then Cara makes a shocking accusation about Aaron that threatens to end his career as a college professor and shatter their barely patched up marriage。 Paige stands by her husband, but doubts creep in。 Is Cara telling the truth? Or is this all part of her dangerous game?

Then Cara Morton disappears without a trace。

Paige knows her husband can keep secrets。 She’s keeping dark secrets of her own。 But is he a killer? The police seem to think so。 But they don’t know Cara。 They don’t know about her past。 They don’t know what she’s capable of…

A twisty and completely unputdownable page-turner that will keep you up all night。 Perfect for fans of The Housemaid, The Perfect Marriage and The Wife Between Us

This book grabs you from the beginning and listening to all the twist and turns to get to the end。 I had my theories some were on the right track others I was so off。 I will say the beginning and the end were the best parts of the book the middle was a little long and some of it was at times unrealistic。 As All thrillers I read I never want to give anything away so If you like puzzles and mysteries this is a good one to read。Thank you to NetGalley & Storm Publishing for this Audio Arch in exchan This book grabs you from the beginning and listening to all the twist and turns to get to the end。 I had my theories some were on the right track others I was so off。 I will say the beginning and the end were the best parts of the book the middle was a little long and some of it was at times unrealistic。 As All thrillers I read I never want to give anything away so If you like puzzles and mysteries this is a good one to read。Thank you to NetGalley & Storm Publishing for this Audio Arch in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

I really wanted to love this one, but it just didn’t work for me。 Too many minor characters and sub plots, all of which had to work in perfect harmony to achieve the end result。 And not enough subtle foreshadowing to all the interconnections。 Also, none of these characters are likable! None are even really an anti-hero we want to root for! Still, I know there is an audience for this, and I’ll definitely be recommending it to them。 It just didn’t work for me personally。

"The Perfect Affair" is a quick, twisty thriller that's great for a plane ride or snowed-in afternoon where you want the pages to fly by fast。 Set mostly in academia, Aaron Nichols has just been promoted to head of his department。 Seeking support in his new role, he begins an affair with his colleague, Cara Morton。 Shortly after his wife Paige discovers the affair, Cara goes missing, and Aaron is the number one suspect。 The first-person narrative switches between Aaron, Paige, and the detective "The Perfect Affair" is a quick, twisty thriller that's great for a plane ride or snowed-in afternoon where you want the pages to fly by fast。 Set mostly in academia, Aaron Nichols has just been promoted to head of his department。 Seeking support in his new role, he begins an affair with his colleague, Cara Morton。 Shortly after his wife Paige discovers the affair, Cara goes missing, and Aaron is the number one suspect。 The first-person narrative switches between Aaron, Paige, and the detective on the case。 This one won't be making my favorites list, because I found by the end that I simply didn't care about the characters and wasn't much bothered over what happened to them。 Nonetheless, it certainly fit the bill for an entertaining listen。 This was the first book by Angela Henry that I've read and I'd love to try some others。I listened to this book on audio, and found the narration done well, though slightly harder to follow with just a single narrator。 Because it is narrated by a female, I often missed the switch to Aaron's POV and would pick it up a little late based on context。 Overall, though, no complaints! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ FIVE STARS for this sordid tale!THE PERFECT AFFAIR did what I love which is it jumped off the page from page one。 Angela Henry came out swinging in the first chapter。 I found myself drawing conclusions, which we all do of course, but there were so many clues dropped throughout the book that I kept changing my mind。 I just didn’t know where this was going to end up。After Aaron has an affair and Paige find out, he agrees to end it so they can save their marriage and keep their family to ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ FIVE STARS for this sordid tale!THE PERFECT AFFAIR did what I love which is it jumped off the page from page one。 Angela Henry came out swinging in the first chapter。 I found myself drawing conclusions, which we all do of course, but there were so many clues dropped throughout the book that I kept changing my mind。 I just didn’t know where this was going to end up。After Aaron has an affair and Paige find out, he agrees to end it so they can save their marriage and keep their family together。 However, after his cocky no shame in her game mistress turns up dead, all eyes are on Aaron。 Paige wants to stand by her husband but is he being honest with her? Thank you, Netgalley, the author, and Dreamscape Select for the gifted audiobook! ❤️ #gifted。 My review is comprised of my honest thoughts。 Read this book if you like: Multiple POV, dark pasts, slow burn, past and present timelines I enjoyed this one。 I listened to the audiobook。 It was a good suspenseful read, even funny at times。 It did get a bit confusing at times because it jumps all over in timeline and POV。 I had no idea where it was going, honestly。 I highly recommend it!

4 starsThis book truly was a wild ride full of twists and turns。 I feel like I didn’t trust almost any of the characters initially, and many of my instincts were right; I don’t think it’s a spoiler to say that several of them were hiding things。 I enjoyed the story, including the partial academic setting, and would definitely read more from this writer in the future。An ARC of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review。

I didn’t really care for any of the characters and as a result didn’t care what happened to the missing professor。 The storyline had potential, but the execution wasn’t there (in my very humble and insignificant opinion)。 The ending was fine, I can see why someone else might have enjoyed the book 。。 it just wasn’t for me!

This book was a hot mess! I think it was the case of a decently interesting plot with bad execution。 We had a lot of characters with tenuous connections and relevant pasts, several different affairs, child abuse, spousal abuse, elderly abuse, oh so much abuse。 All of these people suck。 I think maybe that was the biggest problem, I genuinely didn't care about any of them。 The missing person, Cara, was one of the worst so it was hard to really be worried about who offed her。 If you don't want pote This book was a hot mess! The first part of this book had a great premise and I was fully invested in the dynamics occurring between characters。 By the end I hated everyone and felt like the wheels had fallen off。 It felt very convoluted, and the number of random suspects kept growing。 I do prefer to feel a little sympathy for the victim but I couldn’t do it here。 In saying that, I wasn’t bored and the book flew by in an entertaining style。
